Commonwealth Legacy Group publishes Insights to explain insurance and planning concepts in plain language. This page describes how that content is researched, reviewed, corrected, and updated.

Research method

Insights articles are written as educational explanations, not as product pitches. Where an article refers to a rule, definition, or consumer guidance, we name the primary source in the copy — typically the National Association of Insurance Commissioners or the Internal Revenue Service — and link that mention to the source.

We do not add sources that are not already part of the article. We do not publish projected returns, guaranteed results, or premiums on this site. When an illustration is discussed, it is described in general terms. A specific illustration is a carrier document, not a website claim.

Nothing in Insights is tax advice, legal advice, or investment advice. Consult your own tax and legal advisors before acting.

Review process

Every Insights article is reviewed by Cole Whitaker, founder of Commonwealth Legacy Group and a licensed insurance producer (NPN 20771620), before it is published. The agency is Kentucky DOI #1475734.

Review checks that the article matches the source it cites, that it does not promise results a product cannot deliver, and that required disclosures remain in place.

Corrections policy

If you find an error, email info@commonwealthlegacygroup.com with the article URL and the correction. We will review it, update the article when a change is warranted, and set a new last-reviewed date on the page.

A correction changes the article. It does not change a policy you already own. Policy language and carrier documents govern the contract.

How content is updated

Each article shows a published date and a last-reviewed date. The last-reviewed date is updated when the article is substantively revised or re-checked against current source material.

We review an article when a cited rule changes, when a reader flags an error, or when we otherwise have reason to re-read the piece. An unchanged last-reviewed date means the article has not been re-checked since that day.
